I swear that I saw posters for "Teacher's Pet" as early as Fall of 2002. On the official Walt Disney Pictures website, it was the next scheduled film after "Tuck Everlasting" in October. I still have no idea as to why Disney changed the release date to January of 2004 (especially considering that the series had officially ended in 2002 and would have been a great send-off). I feel it could have done much better if it had been released around that time, than its rescheduled release two years later. If nothing else, I think it would have had more of an audience who would have known about the series, and God knows it would have been better than some of the Disney films of 2002 (I'm looking at you, "Snow Dogs" and "The Country Bears"). I'm not saying that I hated the Disney films of 2002, there were several great ones as well ("Lilo & Stitch", "Tuck Everlasting", "The Rookie", among others), but it definetely would have made more sense to release "Teacher's Pet" following the cancellation of the series.
