Punk is deader than Princess Di

Your complete lack of argument and facts suggests you are either stupid or a troll. Unless this poster comes up with some reasonable arguments to support their point, I recommend nobody bothers replying and feeding the troll.

If you hate punk so much why search this film and post about it?

I'm good at making shock value statements to antagonistically dissent with the collective belief too, Mr Troll. I offer you an example:

"Water isn't wet."

Can I join your club now? We can nibble on the billy goats gruff together...

I do agree with this sentiment. I am a huge punk fan. As in it is my favorite genre of music. Joe Strummer is my personal hero etc. But I think that punk is dead. And if its not dead, its dying. If you compare modern punk bands to any punk bands from the 70's or 80's, it just doesn't stack up. Not to say that all punk bands are bad (DKM and Cobra Skulls come to mind) but we don't have Minor Threat or Black Flag or the Descendents (who still play?) or whatever. We have some good remnants, like NOFX, but it just seems to be in its death throes. Another point is that the scene is in a sorry state. It doesn't have the closeness or dedication that they had in the American Hardcore scene. I guess the shiny newness has worn off and now we are stuck with bands who exemplify the song "Medio-core"- "Its not forsaken, the music they're making, will leave you with a feeling of indifference. How was the band? They were okay. Not great. But pretty good."

I guess I just can't shake the feeling that the scene has gone so far down hill and it will never be restored to its former glory when the most influential punk bands aren't the Clash and Minor Threat but Greenday.

As long as there are angry youngsters and electric guitars, punk will persevere.
