Had potential

The premise isn't too bad... it was the execution, supporting cast, screenplay, character development, cinematography and editing that failed.

The idea of Snipes being in the hospital, thinking he was in the war is actually not a bad idea. When he broke free and escaped, that was a good scene. He should have been put in more situations where the power of suggestion affected his actions. After the hospital, it all kind of faded, and he ends up riding a tanker truck... which is not original and made no use of his state of mind or fighting skills. And then nothing much happened after that.

From the psycho hospital, and after his run-in with those kids in the forest, he should have tried to hide in a cinema -- where the movie was suggesting things to him. The bad guys would then come in the cinema, find him, and try to catch him.... Snipes thinks this is part of the movie, which in turn he now thinks is reality.

It was a goldmine of opportunity for clever scenes. He could've gone into a video games palor, where the fighting games he thinks are real... and tries to fight the guys chasing him with the plastic guns on the video game. He then runs along the highway and sees a huge billboard advertising a breakfast cereal where the motto is "keeps you alive". So he must find this cereal, and goes to a 7-11. He runs into a street gang who hassle him, but think he's cool and mess with his mind. Bad guys still on his tale, they run into same street gang... fight breaks out. Snipes is outta there. Now, isn't this movie sounding a lot better?

Damn I should be a writer.
