I WANT TO SEE THIS VERY BADLY

At the time of the UK TV broadcast, a feature-length edit had been made for international cinema release. I presume that this is still languishing pending the requisite deals... there's a story about it at:

I understand that this will air on PBS in April as part of Masterpiece Theatre.

The Lost Prince will air on PBS' ExxonMobil Masterpiece Theatre on April 4th and April 11th 2004. Check Local Listings. I am sure more information about the broadcast will come out as the film gets closer to air.

I just finished watching the final episode of The Forsyte Saga, Series II, and PBS showed a preview for The Lost Prince afterward. It looks very good. However, they said it won't air until fall.

reply

It is going to be on this fall? It's about time! I've been waiting to see it for months... guess i'm gonna have to wait a few more.. oh well... if anybody gets any detail please post it! thanks a bunch

My region 1 DVD of "The Lost Prince" arrived today.

A beautiful film. Fully-realized, almost perfect evocation of the era. Sweet, sad, mysterious as childhood is. Get it now.

It filled all of my expectations. A wonderful piece of work. Like you said, sad, joyful, mysterious ... and McKee of "The Forsyte Saga" fame was just wonderful. It is a part of English history that is not that well known.

I think I own more BBC discs and VHS tapes than American!

Terrified... mortified... petrified... stupefied... by you.

The run time in the UK version DVD said only 90 min, not the 180 min shown here (as well as in US version DVD). Have anyone watched the UK version? How long is it exactly? Thanks for the reply in advance.

reply

Those who want to see this badly need to turn there tv's on tomorrow night, PBS 8pm (western).

Saw it last night, or rather the second part, the first was the previous Sunday. Absolutely brilliant. Heartbtreaking. This is TV of the highest order. I'll be contributing a donation to PBS in appreciation. Do not miss this.

This was probably an error, as the film was broadcast in two 90-minute halves.
