Explain the scene when he gets knocked in the head.

I wonder is there anyone who wants to have a take on the scene where sam jacksons character gets knocked in the head and he starts getting visions.
In the riot he gets knocked in the head by a cop and when he sits down he sees a black kid staring right at him, and it's the same kind of look that cody, the missing kid has.
What's a little confusing is that the empty chair and the codys look is a vision that Julianne Moores character has, not sam jacksons....

Anyway what did that scene mean to you?

he said before to that black kid "What you doing? this is your family" or something, that kid would burn that chair or box or whatever.
When he gets hurt by that cop, that kid is looking and in the back you see that chair, box or whatever burning. Thats what I think it is, its kinda late and my eyes are sleepy

That doesn't explain why Lorenzo seems to see the same vision of Cody that Brenda saw in the hospital.

I thought it was an attempt to make a statement by symbols. He tells the kid roughly dont burn this this is your familys stuff (burning this only hurts you and yours) then later on he sees the kid he burnt it anyway he doesnt care that it s for his family he just wants to destroy. the kid is "unreacheable,""lost or "gone" much like cody.

But I could be way off the mark lol

I thought it was supposed to symbolism of his son and how he failed him.
