favorite character

My favorite was Skip and the twins. Alice reminded too much of mom, I wish she came with a mute button, too.(Except the lesbian part.)

Judy was my favorite, just because they didn't make her character completely over the top and how they had her attempting to interact with the family. and also how she managed to get Charlotte to like her, just by saying Hi.

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place.

Skip had some great lines, plus the scene in the basement. My other, co-favorite character was the grandmother, who dramatically tried to commit suicide whenever a family squabble began.

I identified most with Alice's kids. That was me growing up. I always got a laugh when Burt tried to squeak when people asked him a question. His facial expressions were priceless.

The twins were fun to watch, although I wouldn't like to either raise them or have them in my family.

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.

Daniel is my favorite, then kate

Kate had to be my favourite by far. I identify with her the most. She's in the centre of this meoldramatic family (to put it lightly) and she thinks she's the normal one. Throughout the course of the movie though you realise none of them are conventionally 'normal.'

Maybe I just know what it's like to be in the middle of a family who squabble one moment and laugh with each other the next....

Judy, but then again I'm a huge Famke fan and so most-likely biased :P

Otherwise, Skip and the twins were great, really made me laugh!

reply

oh, someone i forgot -
Alice's silent husband (Burt?) was hilarious.
I've met people like that, and the annoying, mumbling, avoiding speaking thing he does was just spot on.

reply

the good thing was that they were all great characters, even the people around the family, but i loved the twins the most, hilarious kids! there were no dull characters in this movie!

reply

The priest played by Rene Auberjonois. I backed that scene up a couple of times when he sobs during the funeral. Hilarious!

reply

i alwaya felt like the Lucy of the family, cuz my brother and sister hate the gay thing!!!
but i would soooo love to find a Judy! i fell in love with her totally!

oh, jean grey!

My favourite character was Samantha, the highly unprofessional nurse.

Sam: Don't worry, I'm gonna break her outa there.
Lucy: She tried to kill herself.
Sam: Yeeeeah... it's pretty common.

Sam: She's gonna be fiiine. She just broke a few bones... mainly shoulder and face... and a few ribs... but they slapped her in a haffi.

Sam: ...people tend to be embarrassed after an - accident like that.
Lucy: It wasn't an accident.
Sam: Weeell... 'tis was it is.

Sam: You'd kill yourself if you missed your husband's funeral.

And then I'd say Skip and the twins, and the priest's speech was hilarious. And an unsung character, Danny - whenever things get rough: "Thomthing ith thuck tho my thongue!" - the Grandmother is a great character, too.

I identify most with Kate and Judy.
So I guess they're my favourites.

I love Jesus !
Audrey Hepburn <3 You are missed.

Kate is definitely my favorite. She's the most normal out of all of them, and I don't know- I just loved her character because she was grounded and she was the only one of them who really had fond memories of her grandfather from the little time they had spent together when she was a kid. Also, Zooey Deschanel is so cute in this movie you have to love her.

reply

Agreed... surprised at the lack of Zooey's here.
