best film in 37 years

this film rewrote the cahiers du cinema. i love this film. one of the pieces of this film that filled me with glee in between the feeling of bliss and sadness that i will never achieve the beauty of this film.. sorry i'm rambling, i could write a novel on this film. the delicate and understated use of german expressionism is beautiful. the lighting, characters, action, and movement was laid down gently next to the brilliant narrative of the film.

the use of the decoupage classique was as beautiful as an 87 degree evening on a tropical hideaway. the film was rich in seamless narration. the editing was amazing.

this made le charme discret de la bourgeoisie look like a bland pinnate prairie coneflower. i wept at the end of this film because i knew such beauty will never be attained by anyone else in my life time and frankly, i hope no one does in history of time.

Try looking up sarcasm in the dictionary. It will change your life.

yikes...

I for one kept trying to deduce the target demographic. seems like they're shooting for young Christian adults a la' Omega Code etc

For plot and such tho it's certainly no worse than The Stand

I agree. This film changed my life.

I have to admit. This film got under my skin. Forget all the blah blah blah about production value. Look at the picture's heart and soul. Well meaning people under incredible circumstance. What would you do? What choices would you make if you were Gordon Hauge. I like this film.

Whatever you guys are taking please let me have it too. Finding something that makes a big s*it to appear as a gold nugget is the quest of my life

A drug doesnt exist that can make this movie better. Really, think about it... you're high, easily open to suggestion, and such... then this comes on. Can you say "bad trip"? I'm sure you'd freak out, think the nuclear missile is out to get you, and then run through the woods naked and screaming until you found a bear and tackled it to "feel the love", and it killed you.

Sucking on a Jesus-sicle will get you there along with a cup of stooge juice.

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

Its been over a decade since I saw this film, and I barely remember much of it.

But what I do remember, is I found it delightfully weird! Paced a little poorly perhaps, but I really admired its ambition and overall strangeness.
