The kids that had it the worst

Fed Ex and Charlie! Fed Ex really had it rough since his siblings constantly picked on him and so did the kids at school. I felt bad for him! And Charlie had it rough too. He had to move his senior year and who would want to do that? Plus he didn't get to play his position on the football team and was also made fun of in school and pretty much didn't fit in there. The other kids were just whiny punks who didn't really have any reason to complain (and I do realize not all of them complained - well okay, Lorraine didn't complain - other than her everyone was bratty).

Charlie at least had some relative control over his situation, unlike the others. He could get in his car and drive back to his home town, unlike the others, anytime he wanted, and if he really was set on it, his father couldn't do anything to stop him from moving back and transferring his records to his old school, which I'm sure any of his siblings would have loved to do.

I always thought Charlie took alot of what he had for granted before he moved, just assuming that everything was going to fall into place and work out for him, just assuming that he was getting a scholarship "if he wanted one," just assuming that he was getting the quarterback position despite just rolling in during Senior year, so that when he moves to a city where he is no longer a "big fish in a small pond" he has no idea what to do. And who the heck knows if he himself hadn't bullied kids at one point... not saying that two rights make a wrong, but he obviously had never been treated that way before.

The mature thing would be to just keep his head down and go on with his life, rather than get huffy about not being able to play the position he wants to on the Football team or something. That was a huge school, I find it hard to beleive he couldn't have found his own niche or clique SOMEWHERE - X-country, the drama club, lacrosse, poetry reading, anything? But, hey, I understand, I would never go back to HS for any amount of money. Still, it probably sucked more to be his sister. High School girls can be VICIOUS.

You also have that "punk" look he shoots at the Coaches when they deny him his Quarterback position before he turns his back and walks away, not even bothering to shake their hands. Kind of petty from my perspective

I never got this. I saw him where he started QB at his old school and was very good. Now he comes to the city where football is a lot different. More flashy with athletes and not hard nose pounding. He wanted a shot at QB and the coaches denied him one. Even tho he was a starter at his old school. There should always be a QB battle. Also he quit due to being treated wrong. He loves football . He now had to move where he didn't get a shot at the position he loved and was being treated like *beep* I never got the he bullied people vibe. His personality was quiet.

Lorraine didn't complain?? She was always announcing her disapproval. Plus she never pitched in to help, even after her dad asked her. I thought she was the most reprehensible of the lot. Very spoiled. The next youngest sister was the trouble maker. They all had a good life, never worrying about their next meal, had their own rooms and plenty of toys FCS. The parents obviously loved them. It was tough to see their side n the movie.
