What is real and what isn't

I watched this movie the other day, by chance, and was fairly surprised to see Gry Bay frolic around and cavorting naked. Now I dunno if they/she had a body double that just looked a lot like her, but how much realism did they go for? Does she actually have sex with these guys? It's hard to find reliable info on this. The movie is shot to be able to go both ways. She could, but perhaps she doesn't.

Any info on this matter?

As far as I know, it is supposed to be real almost all of it, but it is shot in a not very direct way. Appart from that, in the audio commentaries in the DVD, Gry Bay says that in the blowjob scene in the boat, almost in the end, the actress doing that is not her.

reply

Right I see.. Does she mention any other interesting trivia? Like in the girl girl scene, I'm almost sure she's getting licked out by that other actress.. Most of the boy/girl scenes in the movie, featuring her, are shot in a way, that they could possibly not have been doing anything sexual, just pretending to be carried away.

The sex scenes are real, so is the girl/girl scene.

reply

Do you have a source reference for this? Not that I don't believe you, it's just always nice to have stuff confirmed :)

I'm still a little amazed Gry would do this, but I guess in the name of art... why the hell not.

Yeah, it's amazing since Gry is such a well known star.. Why in the world would she resort to such things?

reply

Just watched the film (not on dvd but downloaded).

Certainly the bl job at the end is not her as, at this particular scene, the girl is wearing a ring on her finger plus she has a mole on the right cheek where Anna doesn't.

About the girl girl scene, there is no doubt that it was her (more it seems that she was enjoying it).

Certainly I became a fan of her not because of how gorgeous she is but she is really a good actor and moreover because she was not prudish but daring to play an explicit role like this with such a sensitivity, simply because it serves the film it self.

Lucky Johan!!! :-))

And believe me: only a woman diector could make a film with such a sensitivity!

reply

Sorry for my mistake in my previous post. The cheek was the left one (not the right as I wrote). Of course this is understandable since this is the one we see.

Hey Kit,
Decide what you were expecting to watch! A film with a realistic story and sensitively directed (by a woman, of course)that can happened (and surely did happen to some of us), or a porno movie with "real" sex and of course PENETRATION (the ultimate of sensation and supposed-to-be arrousing in the porno movies)!!!!!!!

I suggest to read the PUZZY POWER MANIFESTO of Zentropa and maybe you will understand what you have watched!

[Statement on women and sensuality

The following guidelines were developed by Zentropa in 1998 for the films "Constance" and "Pink Prison" and were also applied as a basis for "All About Anna"] .......

On the DVD commentary, producer Nicolas Barbano says of Gry Bay and Thomas Raft's sex scene: 'These people are not porn actors. They are legitimate mainstream actors with a mainstream background. These people really have intercourse and this is extremely unusual... In this scene Thomas Raft actually has an orgasm. He ejaculates inside Gry Bay which she was very annoyed about and has been complaining about ever since.'
He later talks about the director Jessica Nilsson's unwillingness to shoot the hardcore performances as explicitly as possible.
In another commentary co-stars Mark Stevens and Eileen Daly comment on Gry Bay's reluctance to fully expose her body during the explicit scenes.
So the answer to the question of this thread seems to be... it's all real, but it's not all shown.

the movie was just plain ugly. gry was sure hot, no doubt. but the movie was just plain ugly. almost everything about it was wrong. most, if not all of it, didn't make sense. it was highly unrealistic, here's a few stuff that felt wrong:

1. the love between Anna and Johan was not emphasized enough so the audience ddnt really feel Anna's pain when Johan left.
2. why did this Johan dude cut the communication between them for 5 years? if he loved her dearly as what the movie suggests, why?
3. what's up with the big time french director dude? did he just waste a whole lot of time and money just to get into Anna's pants? very unlikely.
4. Frank erased Johan's number on the wall. Johan just decided not to appear again because apparently, Anna ddnt call her. he couldve went back to Anna's apartment (which he has access on) and checked her out again. it would be dumb of him to think that Anna doesnt like him anymore because they just did it in the kitchen.
5. Johan told Anna the reason why he decided to rent her apartment - it was so he can see her again. well, the reason why it became vacant is because she's leaving for france. so it was pointless.
6. Anna chose over 50 persons to be her flatmate. she chose Camila. does that mean the other 50 are worse than Camila? Anna also said that the reason why she chose Camila is because they are almost the same. which clearly they are not.
7. why would they show Frank removing his condom while he's talking to his mother on the phone? highly inappropriate.

these are just a few. the whole movie has a goal, yeah. but the way it was put together was just awkwardly wrong. everything is - the music, the cinematography, the script. so yeah.

The scene with Eileen Daly giving a blowjob to that blond guy is real. You can't really fake someone blowing a load all over your face...

I'm still yet to see a good film with an interesting story that also features real (unsimulated) and exciting sex. Surely SOMEONE is capable? I know it would entertain a lot of people. Something like Ronin, with Bobby D nailing Natascha McElhone a few times during the film. Or Last Tango, but with real sex. How boring must it have been to dry hump Maria Schneider and prattle on about butter?

The manifesto is not a bad idea, but they could at least show the penetration. I know a lot of women who would love to see that.

Just ordered this movie from Amazon.
Shall let you know how we feel about it next week!

reply

After reading most of the reviews, we were sincerely looking forward to enjoying this art film. We made it through about half of it....pretty boring stuff. When we get around to watching the second half, we shall let you know if it was any better. The masturbation scene was quite erotic....but other than that..."snore....snore....snore"

reply

I agree that masturbation scene was the best. The girl on girl scene was also good. Like someone else said they did not divulge enough into the Anna, Johnna relationship. We know he broke her heart and next thing you know they are getting it on. I wish they would've created some sexual tension between them. I also don't think the two actors had much chemistry between them. The movie had many inconsistencies but all in all, especially for a softcore porn (if you think of this as porn) it is well done. I wouldn't mind seeing more softcore movies like this with actors that can act and good story lines.

WHo cares about the movie, the guy's hot. That's enough for me.:p

Another good example could be Better than sex, a film made in 2000, with David Wendham and Susie Porter as the main characters.

reply

i can't decide what's more embarrassing about puzzy power, the films or the manifesto. really shallow, unintelligent, talentless stuff. and horribly unsexy.

reply

The girl wich whom she has a lesbian scene is named Ovidie and is a French porn star so if they casted a porn actress the sex is probably real, she looked like she was having a real orgasm

reply

well i was shocked by the movie, i thought it was a love story, then i see all this porn so i write to Eileen and tell her it was brave of her to do thoses sceens, she writes back and says among others things that not everything in the movie was real.so i dont know.

reply

Just get this version, and you will see on the second DVD that the sex is definitely real.

reply

Everything was real beside the bj scene.

I thought they faked 2 out of 3 scenes with Gry but the alternative cut + A/B camera rolls shows that they have real sex in all scenes.

The extra material on the 2 disc DVD set is great. I personally think the alternative cut is better. Audio commentary is good with Gry. Imagine doing commentary during your own sex scenes.

She talks about how she fell in love for real with the male star in the movie and how she cried when he did scenes with the other girl. (typical women logic. Its ok for her to take it from behind by another man: its just work. But when the man work = its not ok)

I hope for a ultimate Blu ray version with all versions + cut material.
