I listened to the commentaries for the first time recently and just watched the last one. I had no idea that ZZ Top makes a cameo as two of Hawkeye's hired guns. As Bullock walks away they are the two extremely bearded guys on the right.
This has probably been pointed out already but I got a kick out of it. David Milch says they waited three days on set just so they could be on the show.
I've watched this show, every episode, several times. Never noticed that before. I recently noticed the half man 'little guy who is hell with a knife' standing with the rest of Hawkeyes pack.

shareI can imagine a situation where, after some filming, ZZ Top is bored hanging around the set, so they plug in their guitars and start playing "Legs"; the cast and crew start danging around all over the set, Milch gets pissed off and makes them stop, then Ellsworth exclaims, "BALLS!".
