Small update on the movie

In the article David Milch says it could be 3 months away from shooting the conclusion for it. He also jokes that it could be further away.

Was just gonna post this. Definitely encouraging, as it seems pretty likely this WILL happen, even if it takes longer than 3 months to start production. Then again, joking self-depreciation is one of Milch's favored modes, so it may be right on time. (But then again x2, Deadwood the series was supposedly plagued by re-shoots which made production take forever and angered the suits, and I think Milch's other recent shows had similar problems -- so maybe we should take Milch at his word).'

Here's the full quote:

"The western will never return to those days but The Magnificent Seven remake reached number one at the box office last month and the past two years have also pushed the boundaries of the western with The Revenant and The Hateful Eight as well as smaller films like Bone Tomahawk and Slow West, HBO’s lavish and twisted Westworld blends genres while David Milch says he’s three months from shooting his long-awaited conclusion to Deadwood (“though I may be kidding myself,” he adds), and the network is reportedly developing another western with Deepwater Horizon director Peter Berg; meanwhile, AMC has a sprawling saga, The Son, coming in 2017."

Im definitely looking forward to it. Take all the time you need David.

A little off topic but it's interesting to read that Peter Berg is also developing a Western with HBO. The western genre has been very solid this year with Westworld, Hell or High Water and even The Magnificent Seven(which was okay).

We need this. Swearengen was the ultimate badass.
