STOP SCREAMING!

Please for heaven's sake, give it a rest Halle! Screaming is not acting and it does not make a film more scary nor interesting, it just makes it annoying! I thought they stopped using screaming as an easy way out in the 50s?

reply

OMG! Thank you! Watching it now and thought the exact same thing. so annoying! There needs to be a gothica drinking game. Every time Hale Berry screams, you take a shot.

This. I mean, come on, you see a woman on fire screaming at you, you're gonna scream. This reminds me of a post on Silent Hill, someone complained Radha Mitchell's character screamed too much. I mean, if you see a giant monster thing coming at you and weird creatures vomiting acid at you, you're not smile and sing some catchy tune, you are going to scream.

Oh man, just saw this movie for the first time, her screaming was dry, shrill and would crack so it wasn't at all like a classic horror movie scream... it was like turning up the volume to 11 all the time and you know how you're never supposed to go full-retard? Well her acting style was over-the-top, to totally spazz out like she was constantly literally being tortured... it's obnoxious, I call it the 'Howler Monkey' school of acting. Well, at least she probably learned to tone it down in her later career movies, although I stopped watching her latest sci-fi TV show cuz her acting wasn't holding up.
