I'm usually a fan of Catherine Breillat

But this was... not good. I felt like it was very unnecessary. I dunno, maybe I just didn't get it, although I must say I typically enjoy foreign arthouse dramas. But not this one.

The characters were so dull and unbelievable. I felt no emotion toward them except for incredulous disgust. Mind know that it's a Catherine Breillat movie but I couldn't and can't accept that anyone normal would ever do the things they did. Drinking water out of a glass that also had a used and bloody tampon in it? Nope.

Catherine Breillat's strength has always been her eloquent and intelligent writing and Anatomy of Hell was no different. But the writing and visuals didn't work together for this particular project.

Not her best work I'm afraid.
