I wanted to like this film (Spoilers)

But I can't. It's stupid. Is it possible to make a feminist-themed movie without turning men into stereotypical jerks? Also, is it possible to put gay male characters in a movie and not have god awful techno crap playing in a club at some point?

Rocco's character was a jerk in the beginning. Then apparently horny for no real reason and decided to have sex with the crazy girl. He sticks his fingers and face in her vagina. He sticks a garden tool in her vagina. He tastes blood from her vagina. He drinks bloody water from her tampon. He then complains at the end that they became SO intimate and she just vanished away. He gets upset, drinks a lot, and makes up lies about how brutal he was in bed with her.

What is this saying about men? All we can do is have sex. We're incapable of processing emotions. We drink. A lot. Every single one of us is fascinated with vagina, even gay men, who are naturally afraid of them. Where was the intimacy in this film he was talking about? All they did was lay around and talk in false universal terms about the difference between men and women the way stoned college students might and think they're being brilliant, right before doing a kegstand and then sleeping through all of their Tuesday classes.

The message here is tired, and the methods to convey it are severely flawed.

Thanks for wasting my time Cath.

Haha, right on all counts. But I knew all that going into the the movie, so I just laughed at it. It was pretty fun, but I really wish there had been a whole lot more of Rocco Siffredi's penis.

"Fat Girl," now, was a legitimately great film.
