True, I hated this movie so much, and it gives a terrible stereotype of what Jews are altogether, which is something we should be moving away from in this new centuary.

It was also just a terrible movie, because.

I also didn't like the portrait of the Jews in this movie, but the thing I most hate is the "perfect" non-Jewish boyfriend (who, by the way, is nearly always portrait as nearly-unemployed) vs. the working Jewish boyfriend. I don't like stereotypes, tht's what ruines this movie. Phoenix is cute as Suzie, however.

i just watched suzie gold for the first time and i really enjoyed. i am NOT jewish or female, but it had some interseting characters.. Suzie is young woman finished university and has a job as a runner for a t.v company. She meets a ' nice' non jewish man and hanky panky starts. it has a very lovey dovey ending and there are some good performances and some good jokes ( the little jewish man screwing his best mates wife is funny)

I didn't think this movie was too bad. I enjoyed it. It was a light-hearted romcom. That's what it said on the tin and that's what it was. I don't see why anyone expected other than a romcom. It didn't set out to be Schinler's List!
