Parallels to Hugo

Both boys had something terrible happen to their dads. Both boys were being pursued by men. Both boys had pseudo-girlfriends. Hugo wasn't Steampunk but A Trip to the Moon sure was. Steamboy sure reminded me of Hugo. And I'm sure you can add your own thoughts here too. Anybody?
