Preity Zinta was offerred the role of Chandni, but could not accept because of the dates required by Farah. The trivia is incorrect. It was not Ash, it was meant to be Preity. Preity is actually a good friend of Farah's as she has choreographed most of her movies.

Preity could have done the part as well. As I see it, yes Preity can play a bubbly young lady or girl, but you're forgetting Preity is one of the best bollywood actress out there (and who can sell too). I believe she can do it! It doesn't matter, Sushmita did well.

Okay! Let me correct you all. Sushmita was offered the role a long time ago. Go look at all the MHN specials on Rediff.com and Indiafm.com and Farah's interview. Ages ago Farah said to Sushmita that when I make my first film, I will offer you a role in it and you have to accept. IMDb trivia is usually wrong - take for example the birth date mix-up of Aishwarya Rai and the entry that Sushmita was in Leela and D when in fact she was in neither. Not even for a second.

shareWow, I've mistaken Chandini with the role of Sanjana so I agree with most of you, I can't see Preity do justice as Sushmita did as Chandini. Although, I may have preferred Aishwarya better for the part of Chandini for some reason. It would have been interesting. Plus, I would really like to see more Aishwarya and SRK on screen.
I would have also liked to see Zayed and Preity on screen together in Main Hoon Na too. How about Aishwarya and Preity movie-would be interesting. Don't you think? Overall, I'm happy with the MAIN HOON NA as a whole.

Sushmita Sen waz striking and perfect for thsi role! Preity Zinta is just a pretty face...she waz good for roles like her kal ho na ho one...itz a good thing she could not accept.

I think someone has already said this, but as far as I know, from what I've read and from interviews with Farah Khan, she had promised Sushmita Sen a role in her(Farah's) first film long before Main Hoon Na was made. I don't think anyone else was considered for the role.
