I love all the songs in this movie, and i like that one song which kept playing over and over, it wasn't in english atleast i don't think it was. Well i liked that song too.

Gandalf-End? No,the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path,One that we all must take.

The Indian diaspora is welcome in this thread!! Some nice songs, Indian music at its best!! Indian films with good music tend to succeed, like Main Hoon Na, Chalte Chalte (the songs "Chalte Chalte" and "Tauba Tumhare ye Ishare" (not sure about the spelling) can stick in your head once you hear them, and Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham, arguably the greatest Indian film of all time, songs from this move which was released in 2001 still play on radio from time to time today.

reply

wowowo... you didn't just call KKKG the best indian movie of all time??? frankly, i think the movie is awful! but, even if you do like this sort of movie, how can you possibly put it over "Lagaan" "Dil Chahta Hai" and "Sholay"?

Question about the songs - what's that song SRK sings to Sushmita Sen in the teacher's lounge? It sounds like an old Kishore Kumar song, and I can't figure out the song!

U mean the one with the violins n stuff? that song's 'chand mera dil'. i guess it's another song from a yash chopra movie. farah has this fascination for them... did n e one notice that this film has plenty of yash chopra touches all over???? sush wears chiffon saris (that's the trademark yash chopra heroine) plus she's called chandni!! then there's the old songs that are played over n over. some parts even remind u of karan johar!

The song is Chand mera dil, chaandi ho tum. The rest of the words are Chand se hai door, chandni kahan. (from hum kisi se kam nahin sung by Rafi Sa'ab)
or were you talking about ik ladki ko dekha to aisa lagaa jaise khilta gulab (When I saw a girl, it seemed to me...) (Love story- 42)
Download it from Youtube!

Anyone know the song that is played in the hall after Ram gets "punished"?

reply

that song is "Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha", sung by abhijeet and alka if im correct.

reply

The song is "Yeh Ladka Hai Allah" from the movie "Hum Kisise Kum Naheen" released sometime in the 70's. In fact "Chand Mera Dil" and the song "Mil Gaya.." (played when SRK starts following Amrita around) are also from HKKN... great movie as well.

I love all the song "Main Hoon Na" tooooo............

Is there a soundtrack for this? Or am I going to have to figure out a way to record the music off the DVD and burn it to CD?

reply

You can get the soundtrack.

The word is Qawwali if you are referring to the song when all four protagnonists are singing with the huge glittering set.

Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha was sung by Abhijeet but the girl is Shreya Ghosal of Devdas fame.

I saw this movie on Channel Four here in the UK a couple of weeks ago. Shame they ripped off some of the cues from AI: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0212720 somewhat blatantly to pad out their own soundtrack.

reply

can u please clarify neuro, wat did they rip-off?

"I knew it was a joke Meekus... I just didn't get it right away"

reply

Got to give it to the guy...This is Anu Malik music, it tends to be a rip off. But since this film is based on R.D. Burman's work and I've just checked out that soundtrack, it looks like AI soundtrack creators ripped R.D. Burman's work.
