the perfume

I just loved the whole perfume story -so pathetic when he is buying it- and the comments other characters make about it through the movie. Another scene that I loved was the one on the boat.

What I like about the movie in general is how it portraits with humour how Argentines have hit rock bottom in all senses. The classroom scene, the stolen cable signal, R. Darin's son getting fired from a crappy job, the old clothing everyone is wearing...sigh...all so familiar...

I wonder if you noticed the subtle humour, when after Roman complains of the price, the shopkeeper tells Roman,

- "Come with me to the 'Annex department'", and takes him to a street vendor stand belonging to the same shop. hehe

There's also the reference to the ethnic restaurant, which I will comment in another thread.
