Disturbing trailers! Where the hell is patriotism?

In one of the trailers shown prior to the release of the film, the message displayed was that '90% of the sniper victims were shot in the eye!' They were acually attracting people with these rotten trailers, the essence of which would suggest--- 'Come let's watch them die again!'
Was this film actually about the soldiers who sacrifice their lives for us, or was it simply a cheap way of advertising them in utterly inglorified positions to make money?
All hail the mercenary world of J.P Dutta! I believe it's time for a Fahrenheit 9/11 in our own country!

Disturbing trailers???? What did you expect? Red Roses and Wine? Hello...this is a war movie. It is a movie based on a war that was really fought. And what was shown was what actually happened. Nothing was exaggerated. I don't think showing reality sums upto hankering for cheap publicity! What was shown was what happened and its about time we be prepared for reality and not rosily camouflaged facts. And from when did gore become the means of making money! Maybe in a dysfunctional and disturbed society, people come watch movies on the basis of the content of gore in it. Not otherwise. Please watch the movie and then talk about patriotism. Because if LOC is not patriotic, then i sure as hell don't know what is!!!

bless indians, u gave us nothing if u remember correctly WE WERE INDIANS TOO ONCE so its always been our land and country. aaand the dispute in kashmir is due to indians just taking land that was decided as belonging to pakistan. indian held kashmir is pretty damn useless as long as there are muslims so enjoy :)

geetha_mateo, i maybe wrong, but i feel you've missed my point. I focused on the trailer not the film per se. The film was 'sure as hell' patriotic, could it have been anything else!? Indians are nationalists anyway... try and risk those sentiments by going against it! But, the trailers have a message too. They advertise the film... and they draw us towards the film telling us what it's about. I was appalled at how the film was advertised and what aspects of the film they focused on for the purposes of advertising. If you say, "90% of sniper victims were shot in the eye", what are they really suggesting? geetha mateo a little interpretion on that perhaps would suffice because that really was my question. my interpretation of it was, "come take a look at how they died". if the movie was about patriotism, the soldiers deserved more respect at least in the trailers. Why i focus on the trailers is because i truly believe that filmmakers also have to keep an eye on the revenue... and i 'sure as hell' smelt a rat by watching these trailers. If you are suggesting that gore doesnt attract audiences, perhaps you should think again! gore if anything is being depicted on films more and more. it's an easy way to capture one's attention and leave a lasting impression. have you heard of the much repeated terms, 'sex' and 'violence' and people's concerns as to why there's a growing reliance on them by filmmakers? I thought I was perfectly justified in doubting JP Dutta's motives... make a war movie; usually that rakes in the revenue; try and strike at the nationalistic sentiments in india to get people to watch it... can you say this was a charity drive on JP dutta's part? i don't think so...

So geetha, keep the roses and the red wine, I was actually sharing my concerns about the film industry's motives behind a 'patriotic' film. I have no respect for bollywood that relentlessly sells its 'it's the time to disco' garbage to the people making a mockery of our potential talent base. Hence, when a film on the war in kashmir emanates from here i have every reason to question their intentions. So many of the actors and directors have underworld links... the same people directly or indirectly linked to the terrorists we fight in JK. Perhaps that is why I feel the soldiers who gave up their lives should have their identities better protected rather than become a commodity for sale.
