bad show=bad idea for a movie

I'm optimistic too- John Michael Higgins is also a very funny performer. I caught part of a preview for this film on StarTV (Canada). They were interviewing Martin Short in character as Jiminy Glick, and he was saying how he would get to do all his own stunts. They showed a brief clip, and Jiminy Glick seemed to be fighting off some attackers with martial arts. As you can imagine, it was all very surreal.

It was re-opened. I for one am happy.

Actually, you're wrong. It will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival since that is where the actual film is set.

I admit that Short has many moments of not being funny, and being very cheezy. But he surprises me a lot when he becomes really funny. I remember Jiminy Glick before his talk show--when he would show up occassionally on the real Martin Short's talk show. Then it was funny because the celebs didn't know it was Short, and thought Glick was real. I have some of those on tape and they are hilarious. Plus, Short was great in "Three Amigos" and he surprised me in the teenybopper "Get Over It"--he was the best part of the movie. Oh and how would the Father of the Bride movies be without Franck?

I think Martin Short is great.

I really did like Martin Short the majority of his work has been great, however In my opinion the last few years have not been golden years for Short. Nothing he has been in recently has made me laugh as much as he used to, and I ESPECIALLY detest this Glick character that he does. He's fat and he asks stupid questions, he's fat and he asks stupid questions he's fat amd ... that is how every single skit that character is in goes, How the hell did somebody greenlight a tv show of that crap??

Needless to say this movie will not be on my "to see" list.
