I just saw this again (I saw it at the TIFF premiere too). It's uneven. The murder storyline was pretty bad, but the celebrity cameos are classic! I was just wondering what Jiminy said to Jake Gyllenhaal on the red carpet. Here's what I caught:

Jiminy: Do you ever wish you were in front of the camera?
Jake: Well, I -- I, I am in front of the camera.
Jiminy: Well then I need a (?) I think.

It sounded like "reel," but that doesn't make sense. It's at the 40-minute mark on the DVD if someone can help me out, thanks!

It is indeed 'reel'- industry short hand for 'showreel' of his work...

at what point in the movie does jakes cameo come in? i wana watch but i dont wana sit thru the whole movie

40 minutes in. Not sure what chapter stop it was at on DVD, just watch the clock.

The only reason to watch this film is if you were are fan of the TV show "Jiminy Glick" that was on Comedy Central. The character is hilarious and whats even funnier, are the reactions he gets from the celebrities he speaks to. Martin Short is brilliant in his blatant idiocy and craziness. His ability to ad-lib (as he does for almost the entirety of this film) is uncanny. If you loved the character like I did, watch this film.
