If you like SCTV and Prime Time Glick, it is GREAT!

This is not mainstream comedy, it's a Canadian thing, ehh. A lot of in-jokes and offbeat humor. Watching it was like watching the old SCTV movies that Short did back in the day. I will admit, I laughed 10X harder the 2nd time I saw it. This plot was a favorite vehicle on SCTV, mixing different movies together to make one confused movie. The David Lynch impersonation is timeless, coupled with The Shining and so many other story-lines. Not for everybody, but I LOVED IT!

I also appreciated it on that level. The great thing about SCTV was that it didn't have to be mainstream funny. I appreciate that Martin Short hasn't lost that sensibility. I get the SCTV movie hybrid connection, too. Maybe it is mostly a canadian thing, but I grew up watching it too, in Albany, NY, and I would rather watch another Glick movie than any other comedy film coming out of the US these days. A friend bought the DVD for me, and I watch it often.

The Cronenberg impersonation is what makes me laugh the hardest, especially by the third time he introduces himself with "I like the idea... of a dark... road.."
