This movie is very beautiful

It has a sense of wonderment and elegance and is full of striking visuals. It's an animated movie with pure heart, it isn't pretentious or preachy. It also lacks loud booming music or screeching voices. The English dub makes it even better for me. I'm not sure if this makes perfect sense but this movie makes me feel human, I've never been much of an Anime guy but this tops any Disney/Pixar film and is one of those rare movies which gets a straight 10/10 from me.

I can't praise the work of Hayao Miyazaki highly enough. It's an absolute masterpiece. Thank you for making it.

I like that boulder. That is a nice boulder.

As my last words let me write that I am glad I came here to write them.
I fell in love with this film. I was one of the 'lucky people' who had an invitation to its American Opening...and yes, I poo-poo'ed it. I thought it was a 'child's film'.

It was a few years later that I had seen it on cable. It was a lovely film and the artistry of Miyazaki is undeniable here.

I had seen his other animated films like Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service and I liked them, but this film, I actually found myself getting into.

Nice story...lovely film.

Take me to Astro's grave - Elroy Jetson. Bye all, it's been fun!

Thanks for that great reply.

It truly is one of the best films of all time, before I posted this topic I had no idea IMDb would announce the end of an era.

This puts everything into perspective for me, like how IMDb is in a league of its own. Nothing comes close.

My parents bought me Howl's Moving Castle for my birthday sometime ago and even though my parents insist on watching movies together as a family for a treat I had some downtime and sat in my room and watched Howl's Moving Castle myself and I fell in love with the storyline of the movie and considering that it's based on a book makes it worth watching. I was amazed at Sophie's hats and to put it simple Sophie was such a good role model for young girls because of her hard work she does and Emily Mortimer did a great job voicing young Sophie but when Sophie became the elderly lady Jean Simmons shined in the elderly Sophie role. Another thing was a shocking surprise to see the late Lauren Bacall voice the witch and she did great in her only animated movie role. But the one who surprised me the most in Howl's Moving Castle was Billy Crystal and he brought some well needed comic relief to the movie and was so funny as the fire spirit Calcifer. But I found Howl to be really cute and handsome and that blond hair of his was so nice and Christian Bale had a nice voice to bring Howl to life and that alone made Howl cute. I have never read the Howl's Moving Castle book but I will someday because the movie is just simply impressive and can be watched time and time again
