Controversy?

You know, I've heard the Nostalgia Critic and the Nostalgia Chick dis Howl's Moving Castle before because of some "controversy", but they never comment further on it. What's this controversy they're talking about? I mean, whether they like the film or not could matter less to me, but they talked about it like it was a common discussion among movie goers. I love the film, but can find problems. Still, I'm curious, is there some common know "controversy" around this film...something that sets it apart from Myazaki's other films?

They are both complete morons who know don't really know all that much about cinema. Tastes aside, cineasts generally love Howl's Moving Castle for the exact same reasons they love every Studio Ghibli film.

I have no idea what controversy. Is it the anti-war message? I had read Miyazaki was not happy with the U.S.'s invasion of Iraq and this film is his commentary on that. But I don't know.

Can't stop the signal.
