Title?
Anyone know what the title refers to? Maybe it's a dumb question but I couldn't figure it out.

shareThe title seems to refer to the ancient practice of a defeated king or warlord kneeling before his conqueror to show submission. Presumably a coward would do this, while a brave warrior would prefer death to dishonor.
The epilogue makes clear that the fictional Guy's tragic flaw was his fear of committing to a single woman and settling down to raise a family. Guy is defeated in his quest (for happiness in life) not by an outside force, but by his own cowardice. In the last scene, the wax figure repesenting Guy is kneeling on one knee, while all the other galoots are standing.
This film is like asking the question, How shall the stars on the cheeks of this mandrill find a number?
