Am I the Only Person Who Didn't Like This?

With all due respect to my distant relative Max, I found this movie to be way too contrived. The sentimentality was okay; the overall message was okay...but yeesh, this didn't stand up under scrutiny. I was disappointed.

And a movie set in Texas is actually filmed in Oklahoma? Yikes! There ought to be a law.

I had never heard of this film until yesterday when I was browsing Redbox and saw it was at the location I always go to. I really like Moses and Folllows so I rented it tonight. I agree...what the movie is trying to present is great but it really falls short in the writing and the plot, especially the middle. It just sags. It was hard to keep interest.

I'd say OK probably has better tax incentives for production companies than TX. Shame. They also doubled OK for residential Chicago which is quite an accomplishment, although someone like me who has been through 3 IL winters could tell the difference.
