Jack walks into the Barn, the Judge introduces himself as Judge. The next day Jack is getting help with his tires and speaks to the Judge and says, 'I didn't know you were the Judge.'

Can you fly this plane?
Surely you can't be serious.

Think he just thought it was a nickname like Duke or Doc or Chief, but yes it was a bit dim of him.
