Which movie is better?

Return of the Joker. Both are enjoyable, and totally worth seeing. Mystery of the Batwoman even makes some sly ROTJ references (Joker's fate and Batman/Batgirl).

I thought Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker was a very well done movie. Having not seen any episodes of Batman Beyond, I was quite surprised at how good BB:ROTJ turned out.

As for Batman: Mystery Of The Batwoman, I thought that it was pretty good, but nothing special. But I'm glad that they're still making stuff set in the Batman: The Animated Series era.

Return of the Joker is way better. In fact I consider ROTJ slightly better then Mask of the Phantasm. Mystery of the Batwoman is very entertaining, but quality-wise it is more like Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero.

Is Mystery of Batwoman

drawn like The Animated Series

or like the later cartoons with Tim Drake as Robin and Nightwing and Batgirl?

reply

I enjoyed Mystery of the Batwoman, but Return of The Joker was a MASTERPIECE!!!

As for your question, troy_n_h, the animation is like that of the later cartoons. It is called The New Batman Adventures by the way.

Ah, okay.

This one was very good, yet nothing that a TAS episode couldnt have told.
ROTJ is absolutely brilliant, and as far as TAS, it features the best ever Batman sequence, which is, ofcourse, the 10 minute flashback. Batman at its darkest, Joker at his deadliest. It is absolutely marvelous and an instant favorite the moment i saw it!
(And getting the uncut DVD short ago, like...WOAH, not only did i love the extended darkest footage (actually i had seen those earlier), in all heir digital glory, but i also love the storyboarded scene with pryce talking with bruce and terry following bruce around and finding the new batmans's silhouette with I KNOW written, sheeeesh, was that creepy or what!?)
There is no comparison, this one is great but doesnt go beyond being a cool batman flick, ROTJ is the stuff i talk about when introducin batman to others, it's just that good!

(To those who haven't seen the film, I guess this has spoilers, kind of, so don't continue reading.) Yes, it really was (well, is) a masterpiece! The Joker's portrayed as he should be: a diabolical, maniacal genius... Trying to level a city is one thing (Been there, done that... It's such a common thing among villains... yawn...) but what the Joker did to Tim Drake was just too good (or evil) for words... (By the way, was it just me or did Tim shrink when they turned him into Jay-jay?) And granted, yes, the Joker did try to level the city and it would have normally been the same old routine--had he not uttered these words: "I always think it adds resonance to a hero's mission to have some defining element of tragedy in his background, don't you?" Priceless...

Batman Beyond: ROTJ. But try and get the unrated version. The PG-13 version is good, but the original uncut is better and darker. Mystery of the Batwoman is a good one too, but I found the soundtrack to be repetitive and annoying.
