Was Oliver Stone high?

When he casted this movie? Colin Farrell as Alexander, no offence but not the role for Farrell.

Jared Leto?
Angelina Jolie?

reply

I hated Angelina Jolie. Every scene she was in.

I hated the normally great Val Kilmer.

I hated Jared Leto.

Colin Farrell was the least of this movie’s problems.

reply

Farrell’s miscasting aside (and yes, he was pretty bad), I don’t think this film was the disaster it was made out to be. I don’t think it’s any less enjoyable than Gladiator and a lot better than Braveheart, to pluck a couple of more successful period epics from around the same era.

reply

Braveheart is a freaking masterpiece you fool it's pure art you are a very tiny minority

reply

The casting is horrible but the movie as a whole is just a total mess. Almost unbelievable that Oliver Stone directed it: I recognise none of his qualities in this movie.

reply

Possibly high when he thought no one would notice the Irish accents!

reply

The Irish accents were deliberate as I recall reading. He was trying to draw a parallel between the greater Greek Empire as Britain and Macedon as Ireland for some reason.

reply

Angelina Jolie is the only good thing about this movie imo.

The question answers itself.
