Should do an episode on Fox news.....

or atleast on Glenn Beck just to tear them a new one. There are TONS of bull**** on that channel that Penn and Teller could to a whole friggin movie on.

reply

Penn and Glenn were clown college alumnists and to this day are close friends.
So i'm sure they will inevitably get a pass as well.

reply

There was a period when Beck was actually a fairly reasonable libertarian political commentator - but he went neo-conservative and crazy in order to get ratings and cash out. I suspect that privately he is still reasonable but just putting on a show to make as much money as possible.

There are far more lunatics on the left that the MSM adores: mikey moore, keith olberman, norm chomsky, al gore, al franklin, ms huffington, shawn penn.

reply

Far more?

Surely you jest?

reply

"keith olberman, norm chomsky, al franklin, shawn penn"

You'd think you'd at least spell their names right.

And if you honestly believe Noam Chomsky is a "lunatic," you need to seriously reevaluate your definition of the word.

reply

HAHA NORM CHOMSKY

They would lose a good percentage of their libertarian fan base.

Ron Paul *beep* that watch FoxNews, dont really understand libtertarianism... but they know they love it. and RON PAUL! YEAH! and.. his SON TOO! HELL YEAH! AND GUNS!

reply

As much as I dislike Fox News and despise some of the pundits on it, most news is at least somewhat biased. If it's wrong for Fox to do it, it's also wrong for left leaning news networks like CNN and MSNBC, and it's not right to apply double standards like that. If they do one on Fox, they have to do one for the other networks.

That's a good idea. 24 hour cable news networks are *beep*

*beep*

There is hard evidence out now of blatant lying and deceit by fox news. It isn't just a point of view, it's MORALLY WRONG.

And if you haven't found the outright lying and simple ignorance in Limbaugh's rants, you haven't been looking hard enough. There are plenty of websites that tear apart his juvenile "thoughts".

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/fox-news-viewers-informed-current-events-don-t-watch-news-study-finds-article-1.981257

There's no conclusion in the study as to whether unintelligent people pick fox news as their source, or Fox news corrupts them (likely a combination of both IMO).

But when the average Fox News viewer is less informed on current issues than people who don't watch any news at all, how can you see it as a viable news source at all?

Spare me your victim speech, people aren't out to get you. We're aware that other news sources also have flaws, but calling any of the US news giants liberal only makes sense when compared to right-wing extremists. There's not a grand liberal conspiracy, just like there's not a grand conservative conspiracy. Fox News just appeals to their demographic, and since that demographic WANTS to be served biased and nonfactual stories, that's what Fox News sells.

reply

"I'm afraid that most people who bash Fox News (or Faux News as they call it) have never even watched a single second of its programming."

And you know this how? It sounds like you're just pulling facts out of thin air.

"We have long since reached the point in our society where conservative thought is being as fiercely demonized by liberals as hate speech, racism, fascism, etc as liberal thought was fiercely demonized during the McCarthy era as being equal to communism."

Oh *beep* Stop with the exaggerated victim crap. Is there a campaign to make all conservatives lose their jobs (I don't mean conservative pundits I mean anyone who's a conservative?) No.

"But liberals come off as hypocrites because on one hand, they proclaim themselves the champions of free speech, yet on the other hand, shout down anyone who disagrees with them and scheme of political ways to get opposing viewpoints taken off the air. "

What schemes are they using to shut down Fox News? No one's advocating it be banned.

I reckon they would do one on FOX News though would probably not jab a lot at Beck.
