sharei liked the older monster garage more than the new ones. occ beats the newer MG episodes but the older MG episodes beat occ.

i personally think that all of the OCC episodes are exactly the same as the one before. MC is a lot better than OCC. Plus OCC are a bunch of yuppies.

shareJesse was cool, what sucked about MG was the producers selecting "TV Characters" to come on the show, instead of dedicated builders. AC was great in the beginning, but as they grew in fame, they started taking on "rockstar mentalities" which is why its hard to watch the show now. Succeess isn't a bad thing, and growth and expansion is good, but for AC it just didn't mesh well with me. For me AC went downhill when Senior brought in the annoying cousin to be "Boss" over guys like Vinny who was instrumental in OCC's success, countless times he went above and beyond when Junior was off being a celeb.

The skills Jesse and the guys from Monster Garage have are far above what the AC guys have. AC are more assemblers rather than fabricators. They've started doing a touch more fabrication in the later shows, but a lot of their stuff goes like this:
Order parts
Assemble the parts they've ordered
Use a computer\water cutter to make some custom parts that turn the bike into a ridiculous Captain Crunch theme bike.
Just seeing Jesse work an english wheel shows more skill than the whole OCC crew.

American Chopper was like those crafts we did in kindergarten or summer camp where we glued macaroni to something then the teacher spray painted it gold. They may have developed some skills over time, but I couldn't wait that long.
At least on MG, they really fabricate stuff. Some of the cast were drama queens or psychos, but that just made it interesting. And if you couldn't stand someone, well, they were only there for one episode.
