'Lithium Flower' may be the worst song I've ever heard...

I just started watching this about a week ago. I didn't really care much for it at first, but it's rapidly growing on me.

Anyways, I usually love all anime tunes, but this has to be the worst closing theme I've ever heard. Christ, what an awful song. I just hit stop when the credits come up, something I've never done on any other anime series. And the worst part is how the stupid *beep* song got into my head, and now I find myself saying "How is she when she doesn't surf?" while I'm in the shower. I'm doing all I can to keep from suiciding myself.

Under the Sycamore Trees? Is that a reference to Twin Peaks?

As for the song, well, I agree with you. It is awful. But it's so cheesy it actually becomes charming. It is catchy.

What else could it be? I kinda liked Lithium Flower. Better than the closing song on the second Gig i think. Lucky for me, i never really heard the lyrics clearly, is the lyrics the problem?

I really like the song actually, although the lyrics are complete tripe, but i don't care. The singer has a good voice and there's a nice catchy guitar riff.

The bit at the end of the credits, where the lyrics stop and the guitar riff comes in, and then the major's picture comes up, and she's topless (in leather pants) is awesome.

It certainly is a Twin Peaks reference. I'm still waiting for Lynch to use Jimmy Scott in another movie or something. Just his music at least, but he was so creepy in the finale. Then again, I don't even know if the guy is alive anymore.

I always pretty much thought the same. For the longest time, I would hate even listening to it, at the end. Now, at least, I find it fairly catchy and listenable - the lyrics are still a complete disaster, though.

you think those lyrics are bad? sloppy metaphors, is all

have you ever read the lyrics for Run Rabbit Junk?

I hate that Lithium Flower song too - it just doesn't seem to fit, and I think it's a terrible ending tune (as opposed to its awesome opening tune). Plus, I don't really like that vocalist.

I don't understand why you think it doesn't fit.

I don't like the vocalist but the lyrics are spot on IMO since it's so obviously about the Major.

It is a mistake to hit stop when the credits start, if you do you'll miss the Tachikomatic Days shorts which follow.

I'm only going to say this once: stay out of Camberwick Green - Sam Tyler

Oh, I dunno, I kinda like it. Has a similar feel to Cowboy Bebop's "The Real Folk Blues"...

EDIT: I'm now watching 2nd GIG for the first time, and that closing song ("Living Inside the Shell") is REALLY horrible! GAK!
