I agree! I've been hoping they'd be realeased for a while now.

I think there are some copyright issues (namely the movie clips and things of that nature) or else the DVD box set would've been released a long time ago.

Documentaries are released on DVD all the time with footage from other movies/TV shows/music videos/etc. If they got the rights to how those clips on TV, certainly they can get the rights to release it on DVD, although I'd imagine it'd be much more expensive.

It might be expensive but I know tons and tons of people probably want this on DVD, including myself.

I would love for these to be out of DVD but they seem to be running the "I love the" series on VH1 Classic now. Since the network is keeping them in rotation I guess they figure they don't want to put them out yet. They lose viewers that way.

Since it's a HUGE hit i'm sure it won't be released on DVD and will just be for TV since VH1 gets such big audiences for it. Believe me, i wish it was too!

I'm watching it right now. I would buy it if it was on DVD. I guess the only thing you can do for now is TIVO it! :)

10 years later I am still waiting!!!

You can find almost all of the episodes on YouTube. I would say much of it hasn't aged well. There were a lot of comparisons between the 1980s and the year the series was made (2002). Many of the bands and comedians giving commentary were only there because they were famous at that time and didn't add much to the show. And there's also a lot that's happened in the past 15 years that isn't referenced in the show (80's celebrities that have now died, the Cosby scandal, etc). It would be fun for VH1 to do an all new edition of I Love The 80's though.
