Was Hitler really as evil as we were told? What's the truth?

I was wondering, since we've learned now that the Western media tends to lie about a lot of things, what about Adolf Hitler and WWII? Is their portrayal of him as an evil monster and mass murdering psychopath who tried to conquer the world and wipe out the entire Jewish race accurate or true? Is there any real evidence to back that terrible one-dimensional image of him up? What about from Hitler's own words from his speeches and books? Or is all the evidence based on hearsay and/or fabrications?

I don't know, but the notion of a villain who wants to conquer the world by force and wipe out an entire race seems like a character out of a super hero comic book rather than a real life person. People in real life just don't become "evil villains" and try to take over the world. That only happens in fictional stories. Powerful leaders are far more complicated than that. So this whole notion of him being totally evil and insane seems contrived, doesn't it? Yet our media tries to portray it as a black and white case of good vs. evil. But is anything big ever really that black and white?

Especially considering the fact that Hitler was a vegetarian, was kind to animals and people, and an artist as well. Vegetarians and artist types are not usually even violent. Plus, the German people are among the most intelligent in the world and would never have supported such a villain who was all evil.

So, how much of the historical portrayal of Hitler is truth and how much is fiction? Why has he been demonized so much when other figures in history have done far worse, such as Stalin?

Did Hitler really kill any Jews or try to conquer the world, or even Europe? Was he really the aggressor in WWII? Didn't he try to deport them all to the Middle East before WWII even started? If he wanted to kill them all, why did he deport them? That seems to contradict basic logic.

What's Hitler's side of the story? Has it really ever been told? Was his hatred of the Jews justified in any way? Or was he 100 percent wrong and the Jews were 100 percent innocent and did no wrong as American culture insinuates?

Why is it that when the Nazis kill a lot of people, it's considered an atrocious crime, but when the US kills a lot of people, like in Vietnam or Iraq, it's considered just an honest mistake? Isn't that a humongous double standard?

Also, didn't a lot more Russians and Ukrainians die during WWII than Jews? If so, why isn't there a Holocaust memorial and reparations for them? Why do Jewish victims have special status? Is that just a natural coincidence with no agenda?
