shareThe reality of the Cambridge group may well be (and almost certainly was) different to this drama BUT
the performances are fabulous....the music ..the photography ... (a few issues with the spanish sequences ie lack of budget) but overall marvellous... and some astounding scenes.

some favourite moments for me
the waiters do not strike
the scene where Julian Bell is rebuffed over Spain
the scene in the restaurant where Mclean tries to give up spying ...and the soviet agent tells him no...
and
the scene where they jump into the river (I assume the Cam)
the totally comfortable expression of homosexuality ... in an ear of total repression
not always comfortable viewing .... but British drama at is best..
