Recommendations for fans of Uzak and Ceylans films???

Hi all
Does anyone have any recommendations for other films similar to Mr Ceylan's? Excluding Tarkovsky please, I've seen his already ;)

I see the IMDB's ingenious automatic suggstion system is recommending such timeless classics of world cinema as James Cameron's TITANIC!?!?!?!

If anyone can provide anything a bit better than this id love to hear.

Regards
Arkid

If you liked "Uzak," I would heartily recommend "Tony Takitani," "Shcultze Gets the Blues," and "Story of the Weeping Camel." Also, "Himalaya," and "Dersu Uzala."

VERY good choices - the three of these I've seen are all excellent (Camel, Himalaya, Dersu Uzala, which is a different film for Kurosawa, an outdoor adventure)

My only regret in life is that I'm not someone else - Woody Allen

You should also try Tabutta Rovasata (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0127311/) and Karbuz Kabugundan Gemiler Yapmak (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0325675/).

The style of this movie reminds me of Tsai Ming-liang. Try "What Time Is It There?" If you like that director, also try Hou Hsiao-hsien's "Millenium Mambo."

check out Apichatpong Weerasethakul's "Sud sanaeha" and "Sang sattawat" (in Thai) or Cristian Mungiu's "4 luni, 3 saptamani si 2 zile" (in Romanian)

I was very much reminded by the Greek director Theo Angelopoulos, specially his masterpiece Eternity and a Day, in the way that the movie is a reflection of life, thoughts provoking , the long steady shots and the whole atmosphere of the movie, Distant was great but Eternity and a Day was a richer experience for me.
