Can someone fill me in on what happened to her husband?

She and her husband were traveling in their wagon, and one morning he rode off on his horse (to go hunting, I think) and she waited and waited and he didn't come back. A man came riding up on a horse and told her he had found her husband- I think he fell off his horse and hit his head on a rock.

I know you asked this last year but...
They were part of a wagon train and finally decided it was time to settle. They found land that would be where they would make their future home. The following morning a horse got loose and her husband went to look for it. While chasing after it, the horse he was on tripped and tossed him which caused him to slam his head on a rock. Hours later a neighbor brought the husband to her and the next day they buried him and Clarke came to talk to her about his idea.
