Had to turn down Color on TV when watching DVD

This is the second Hallmark DVD I've watched this week and again I had to turn the Color control down on my TV (the other one was The Long Shot). For some reason they pump the color too high, apparently. Turning it down made it much more watchable and natural looking. Never had the problem on other DVDs, where putting everything right in the middle gives an excellent picture. I guess they figure it'll make the movie look better, but it just looks oversaturated to me.

Looks like you need a new TV. It was beautiful on mine!

I know this is a little late, but you should have your TV professionally calibrated or at least try and Google a recommended calibration. The film looked vibrant on my set (I have a plasma), but not so much so that it looked unnatural. Maybe you're just used to seeing the bland teal and orange trend of modern films though and don't need a calibration?
