Does anyone remember the part when they were by the ocean and Kenji was sitting on the boat? Well I was just wondering...what was the thing floating in the water? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

It isnt that stupid (even see the other reply saying it was "wood")

It is a decapitated animal carcass (the director did alot of odd touches like this during the film, many of which get missed by a casual viewing)
