Filmed in Ban Bang Pu Kao?

I read somewhere that some of the filming was done in Ban Bang Pu Kao, a Gulf of Thailand community just outside Bangkok. Can anyone confirm this?
I certainly don't recognize any Pattaya locations. IMBD says it was filmed partially in Pattaya. Maybe there were scenes in Jontiem just around the corner which I don't know as well. The beach bar scene didn't look anything at all like Pattaya.
Does anyone know where the one of the final scenes was filmed? The one where Kenji was driving Noi to the airport and they stopped to reflect and talk?

The shots of the two of them driving along the boulevard next to the ocean looked dead on like Jomtien to me. In fact, I hadn't read the tidbit you mentioned about the movie being partially filmed in Pattaya and I was pretty sure it was Jomtien even so. Jomtien is a lot quieter looking than Pattaya City.

I would assume the footage of them on the docks and by the ocean a couple of times were the ones filmed in Ban Bang Pu Kao. Never been there but I'm taking a guess because it doesn't look like Jomtien or Pattaya City to me. I don't really know about the scene in the beach bar, although to have a video game like that there's a good chance it was in Ban Bang Pu Kao as well.

Link is long dead but I would be curious to see where scenes were filmed as well
