Questions Left Unanswered

Unfortunately, Agnès Varda didn't end up answering questions I would like to know.

Such as, why didn't the friend of Charly end up living in his house when he died? Charly's house looked deserted. The guy had access to the house plus, the van he lived in was parked close by.

What happened to the psychotherapist's wife? She was so proud of her husband the first film but not mentioned in the second.

What happened to the artist who scrounged around the stuff people left out for dump day? The balding one with long hair? He was an interesting character.

What happened to the grape gleaning family? Did anyone ever claim ownership of the abandoned vineyard or do they still go yearly to get grapes?

How is the chef doing? Does he still gather his own herbs and other produce?

All in all, the followup left me wanting more.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

Salomon, the black guy who lived with Charley, seemed mentally ill to me. In the 2000 documentary, Charley said Salomon did not always live with him, Salomon came and went like a migrating bird, he'd move in then move out. When he was filmed in 2002 he preferred living in a van to living in Charley's house. That to me is a sign of mental illness. Mentally ill because he felt more safe and secure living in the streets than living in a house that he would have had total control of. I understand that he likely would not have had the money for utilities, but, nevertheless, he would have had the whole house to himself, and the house at least looked secure and spacious inside and out, not a slum.
