There's no way this film is going to do as well as Greek Wedding. That was a phenomenon similar to Blair Witch and Pulp Fiction. When you reach that kind of height in Hwood, you really have only one direction to slide -- down. Look what happened to Vardalos with her TV version of Greek -- it failed.

It will probably do decent business but Duchovony has proven over and over he's not a big screen star and hardly right for a comedy. He was terrible in Return To Me.

Were i in her position, i would have done something totally different -- like a suspense thriller or a serious drama. I would leave my comedy success alone and try to chart a new path in order to keep from getting typecast by Hollywood who are pathologically addicted to labeling writers. I wish her best of luck -- it's a very tough business.

Actually Duchovny was wonderful in RTM and had many great reviews. More possitiive then not. How can you say he's not good in a comedy? He won an American Comedy Award for Gary Shandling show and just had a Emmy nomination for Bonnie Hunt and also an Emmy nom for Gary's show. In fact RTM was considred a success for MGM. It only cost 15ml to make and took in 38 domestic and did even better overseas. Also did quite well on DVD. I think that David will be an asset to this movie not a liability

ITA with you. That person that saw it on one of the screenings said that it was really good and went over well with the audience. Also i believe that David's part was expanded by Nia. Wasn't he supposed to have a smaller role in this movie?

OMG, I thought David Duchovny was wonderful in RTM. He's very funny in a dry, low-key way, but very smart and funny. Even in X-files, his humor slipped through. Maybe sometimes it's hard to see because he can be so deadpan. I think he's adorable.

ITA:) With every word you've said. Duchovny is wonderful in RTM and i adored him in X-Files. For me he was the X-Files:) Without Mulder i could not enjoy the show any longer.

return to me is a great movie

very very underrated

i think david
is great at both drama and comedy

ITA. I loved RTM and he is equally good at both comedy and drama.

David Duchovny is an asset to any project that he graces with his wit, charm, intelligence, talent and overt (yet understated) sex appeal - (how is that possible? I have no idea). The man is a god in my book, and I will see any and every movie or TV show he is on, just because he's in it.
