In this introduction Kida says "8,000 years ago Atlantis sunk beneathe the ocean..." BUT she was there to witness the sinking (according to The Lost Empire movie)...

It says in the first movie that she is 8800 years old. It doesn't get explained how or why though.

Yes it does. Milo said the crystal helped keep everyone in Atlantis alive.
