Mia Farrow: Maybe I'm just growing old

But somehow I find it hard to accept her in roles where she's lately playing sweet old ladies like this movie, "Be Kind Rewind" and others. I remember when she was a young actress and matured to Woody Allen films...but she's always been young to me. And now suddenly she's playing old ladies! Where did the time go? I guess I grew old as well without realizing it :-/ C'est l'vie!

reply

She really looks too young to be a grandma!!! I love her ;)

reply

She does look good for her age but she too has had work done. No woman her age has a face like that. I didn't think she would ever feel the need.

reply

Yeah, I think I wasn't paying close enough attention to the dialogue or narration at the very beginning. I thought she was Arthur's mom at first. When they showed Arthur's mom, at first I thought--"Wait--he was adopted, or . . . ?" She looked younger than the actress playing the mom.

Well, as long as she shows that amazing acting talent of her!

And I think even her 'old ladies' are beautiful.

Even her evil nanny self in the Omen was eerily attractive;P

Was I the only one who kept expecting her to suddenly scream "What have you done to his eyes?!! You MANIACS!"

Which prolly shows that you are young. ;) Hehe

Look back in Mia Farrow's acting catalogue, and you will see the movie I'm obliquely referring to which only old-timers, mostly, would recognize. :)

Ohhhh okay.... but only since you're a teener... :P ;) (I'd make older people search for it as penance for not having seen it! heh)

"Rosemary's Baby" (1968) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063522/)

Considered, by many, to be one of THE most influential movies in the horror genre of the past century...

Watch it. You'll thank me. ;) And, more importantly, thank Mia Farrow & Roman Polanski. ;) (Not to mention a stellar, stellar cast of "old folks" like Ruth Gordon!) :D

I finally caught in on Showmovies the other day. I must say I'm impressed; it was very creepy and unnerving. You were right, after all. And Mia looks really cute!

Yes, in her time, Mia was quite the cutie. ;)

Since we're talking older Mia Farrow movies have you seen Blind Terror aka See No Evil?

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

Well I don't know about Mia Farrow, but I have seen Kane's See No Evil. Perhaps it is a remake, because I'd love to watch the original.
