How Far Across the US did this HORRID movie go?

OKay.. this was filmed in my home town. I thought it didint get out of the county, let along the state. Thsi movie actully cost 25,000 to make, just for permits, but that was it. He was getting harlies free, and ALL "Actors" were related. So, how far did this...thing... go? PLEASE tell me, and if I get a california I WILL DIE OF LAUGHTER HAHAHA oh okay... back to the real world.

Yeah, it has reached California. In a class I take, we were observing low budget movies and were 'treated' to this movie for a few minutes.

I can tell you I looked and I haven't seen it in any indie video store up here in Vancouver, Canada... so hopefully it didn't leave the country. =)

reply

IT LEFT TEH COUNTRY AND MY GOD THE HORRORBLE MOVIE SHOULD BE BURNED

reply

You don't need to check Indie shops, I found it in Rogers Video.

reply

He said India, not indie.

I picked this up in my local blockbuster video rental shop in Bournemouth, England. What a truly fantastic film, me and my friends laughed so hard we cried, then we kicked the person that chose it.

I got this in Glasgow Scotland. I've only watch the first few minutes and had to switch if off as I couldn't breath in hysterics. I will try again in a bit, perhaps with a few friends and lots of beer.

Why does everyone wear stupid human suits?

reply

OH MY FREAKING GOD! IT GOT OUT OF COUNTRY????! Okay... I need to get into the feetle position and think for a minute...

I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and I know there is at least one copy available here, because I have seen it - or rather, as much of it as I could bear to see.

It's spreading like a disease.

reply

You can buy it on dvd over here. Not sure why ... Someone actually went to the effort of putting it on region 2. Even Manos the hands of fate isn't here yet, and that is the stuff of legends.

This movie did not cost 25,000 to make, because permits are not necessary to film in Anderson. The actual budget of this movie was closer to $1000, and thats just for the food to pay the actors, the tapes to shoot on, and other expendibles. I know this because I work with the guy who made this movie, and since then we shot another "winner" that happened to get distribution--Wiseguys Vs. Zombies. (I say winner sarcastically, as it is almost on par with Ankle Biters). Troma put out Wiseguys, and if you like, love, or loathe Ankle Biters, I suggest you check out Wiseguys....its on the Zombies Vs Satan double creature feature.

As for the actors in Ankle Biters, there were none of any relation....just friends that wanted to be in a corny movie. The motorcycles were indeed free, they also wanted to take part in this movie.

The movie got WORLDWIDE release, staring in the UK, then in USA, and everywhere else. Not too shabby for a thousand dollar flick. Any exposure is good exposure, even when the movie sucks.

In the DVD shop i used to work in we had like 35 copies of this thing and wholesalers were almost giving them away, i belive the technical term for a movie like this is "shelf filler" and it does that job well enough. We never had to worry about filling a gap where that movie was.

Can't help but be baffled how this thing managed to get distribution.

"Can't help but be baffled how this thing managed to get distribution."

haha, Neither can we!

not when you have fustrated angry fans of good horror movies like me trash talking it every chance they get with a "So, whats the worst movie you have ever seen?" question comes up.

About a year ago I went on a road trip with a friend, and stopped at a little place right across the Arizona Border called "1000 Videos" or something. I guess it was one of those really old video stores originally meant to cater to truck drivers. Anyways, I saw a copy of Ankle Biters on DVD there for like five or six bucks, and having read the review on SomethingAwful, decided to buy it. It was worth it, man did it give me a few hours of nonstop laughing.

reply

Thank you for correcting me. I didnt mean, sorry if I confused anyone. WHoa, so it ACTUALLY did go that far!

I rented it at a blockbuster in Kelowna, BC Canada. Immediatly after watching it my friend and I had a conversation about how amazing it was that it made it this far

reply

Just watched it up here in Alaska. Absolutely horrid, and I loved it. I might watch it again, with a pint or ten of beer and a bunch of friends.

I live in a little town in Indiana called New Carlisle & believe it or not I got this movie from the local library. I too make it a habit to try to watch bad movies as a hobbie & this is by far the worst movie I have ever seen. The sound was so bad that I had to constantly raise & lower the volume through out the movie because nothing in the movie is at the same sound level. Compared to this movie "American Vampire" staring Carmen Electra or even "Redneck Zombies" should win an Academy award.

reply

I saw it in a Rodger's Video in Nova Scotia a few years ago. I didn't watch it though.

reply

I live in San Jose CA, picked this up for 2$. That money would have been better spent on a really small piece of crack. At least then I would have felt somewhat entertained.

reply

I found it in Helsinki, Finland ;)

reply

Rented from the local dvd store, assuming it to give me sleepless nights. and in a way it did. It was the undoubtedly the worst movie anyone has ever bothered to see. God, this is REALLY horrible. A funny prank to fool some friends though.
This was in India, Chennai

I got it on Netflix. The DVD was very worn.

Still, this thing was CITIZEN KANE compared to stuff like LIFEBLOOD, BACKWOODS and THE CHRISTMAS SEASON MASSACRE.
