If you hate subtitles, this movie is the exception

I think most foreign movies, especially the ones with subtitles are often way over rated. I've lost count of how many times a date picked the movie, and we ended up in a campy little art theater, to watch a 3 hour yawn-fest.

The gritty realism, and the love story, made this one worth the effort. "Effort" is the wrong word, its giving a movie your undivided attention......no multi-tasking.

I liked this movie so much, I went back to the theater the following day, to watch it again.
