To both sides of the Cuba argument

The truth shall set you free.

CUBA exchanged one tyrant (Fulgencio Batista) for another tyrant (Fidel Castro). Net gain: zero.

You haven't told the whole truth. Batista was far less a tyrant than Castro. And far less ruthless. Those who overthrew Batista never dreamed they'd get what they got in Castro.

The main difference between the two dictators was freedom.

Yes, Batista was a dictator that trampled on the Cuban Constitution, however the people still had rights.

Under Castro, he did all the same wrongs as Batista, however much more. He revoked all rights, took away all possessions, and led the Cuban people into deep poverty for all.

There were the "have's and the have not's" under Batista, under castro it was all have not's.

The "net gain" was not zero, it was (negative to a degree unimaginable). When you lose freedoms, there is no number associated with it.

BY the way what a glorious day that Fidel is dead!! I wish the people in my family who had passed on these several years were alive to witness this day. The only problem is they will not get to greet him in the afterlife since there is a special place in hell for him that awaits.
