This may sound completely off the mark, but when they found his body lying on the floor, his neck looked like it had mechanical parts. I paused and watched that scene a few times and all I saw was some mechanical neck parts. I said "oh, he was a robot after all"

I didn't get that impression. It is possible that perhaps Greenwood was cybernetically enhanced, like Spooner was, but there's nothing in the script to suggesthe that.
Not saying you're wrong, of course. Just giving my opinion. I enjoy hearing alternate theories.
I think those were impressions left from an NS-5 choking the life out of him. Now for what purpose idk, because it would seem Robertson would at least be conducive to manipulation by VIKI, if not downright cooperative.
