I am not sure we will ever have humanoid robots

I am not sure society really wants them like most science fiction films think they do. I am certain that we will all have access to artificial intelligence, but I think they will all be in the form of screens and holograms. The only time I can see where the humanoid robot would make sense, would be for industrial uses, but not personal ones. I like it to the age old prediction of everybody having flying cars in the future. It is technologically feasible, but not all that practical.

It's unlikely unless some new super lightweight materials are created. Human sized feet and legs simply aren't designed to support that kind of weight. From an industrial standpoint, robots designed to specific tasks leads to simpler, more efficient designs (thing Mars Rover, for example). The only reason to have a robot taking human form would be if there were some need for them to go everywhere humans go and do all the tasks we do.

It's more likely that we'll see what we're seeing. Things like self driving cars that have a specific task and the AI is simply built into the vehicle, not an android chauffeur.

When Will Smith is questioning the robot at the police station, Robertson arrived and said he had filed a brief with the DA. I'm not a lawyer, but I always thought briefs we're filed with the court.

We have access to artificial intelligence right now. It's just not what people think it is because of movie fantasy using the term when they really mean artificial consciousness. That's far beyond any technology.
